I’ve been working in non-profit financial management for my whole career. I have experience in a variety of non-profits, from individual membership and trade associations to charitable and religious organizations to research institutes.

I love to cook, and have been experimenting a lot in the kitchen for several years. I consider myself an accomplished amateur. Most things I cook are modifications of other people’s recipes. I always tweak recipes as I go along. I’m a big fan of Cooks Illustrated and have learned a lot from their various resources. Their recipes are foolproof and they explain the science behind everything. I don’t watch cooking competitions on TV, but enjoy some instructive programming from time to time. Check out a few of my favorite original recipes.
I’ve been interested in photography for many years and have shared some of my more recent photographs on this site. I hope you enjoy them.
I built a small garden in my back yard that generally yields a steady crop of fresh tomatoes during the summer. Over the years I have had to deal with bugs, birds, rabbits, disease and deer. In the very early years my son set up a stand on our curb and sold what we couldn’t eat or give away. He enjoyed it and neighbors actually stopped and bought tomatoes from him. I have one garden section that no longer gets much sun, so I’m always trying to figure out what to plant there. Zucchinis seem to do well.
